Volunteer with us ...

Our work is not possible without the help of many volunteers. A list of work groups and their principal responsibilities is shown below. 

Education & Events

Provide a variety of educational experiences through short-term exhibits that rotate from the Freight Room to local exhibit venues;  and provide staffing for depot regular hours open to the public, and for other depot events.

Facilities & Operations

Maintain the building and site, arrange for repairs, facilitate leases and rental space. Work in conjunction with development of the Facilities Master Plan.

Finance

Develop a business plan and strategize financial components for a sustainable facility.

Fundraising

Focus on raising funds to insure the viability and stability of the Depot.

Grants

Develop  grant applications to support the restoration of the facility, site and railcars and to support exhibit development. Grant requests are coordinated through related committees.

Long-Term exhibits

Develop an Interpretive Master Plan (IMP) to identify the interpretive themes and interactives to support the mission of the PDHC. The IMP will identify stories to be told, and interpretive and interactive exhibit formats.

Marketing & Promotions

Develop and implement marketing strategy, maintain social media presence.

Restoration

Responsible for developing restoration goals, researching methods and materials. Work in conjunction with the Facilities Master Plan.

Rolling Stock

Encouraging curiosity and engaging the community through the restoration and repurposing of a heritage passenger coach and caboose.
